History of La Mesa Beautiful

La Mesa Beautiful was organized in 1974 and incorporated in 1980. The organization works collectively to preserve and increase the beauty of La Mesa. By encouraging and recognizing well-maintained residential and business landscapes, La Mesa Beautiful helps to enhance the image of La Mesa. Working with La Mesa public officials, we focus on improving the landscapes of our parks, schools and streets. We also introduce the importance of arboriculture to school children by supporting Arbor Week activities in schools and giving horticultural scholarships to students.
We strive to educate our community on the most current horticultural information available. Shrub Club quarterly meetings offer a garden related speaker, hands-on workshops, share table for cuttings of our favorite plants, refreshments and door prizes. Join us, we are growing a community!
