Annually, La Mesa Beautiful presents Spirit Awards to recognize attractive landscapes. Winners are acknowledged at a reception given by by the Board members of La Mesa Beautiful, receive a La Mesa Beautiful landscape recognition sign to place in their landscapes, and receive a free membership for La Mesa Beautiful for one year.

Spirit Awards are considered for these elements:

Single-Family Residence: Best Design

Single-Family Residence: Use of Color

Low-Water Use: Best Design

Low-Water Use: Best Colorful Landscape

Multi-Family Residential: Best Design

Business or Commercial: Best Design

Public Facility: Best Design
